Eyeglass Recycling

Eyeglass Recycling Logo

A major service project of the Lions of the world is to collect used eyeglasses for distribution to people in foreign countries.  Lions distribute used eyeglasses to those with no access to eyeglasses.  Lions also take or ship glasses to foreign countries on a regular basis.

The Wisconsin Lions have an Eyeglass Recycling Center located at the Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt. The Lions collect about a million pairs of glasses each year that get distributed around the world.  Lions from Wisconsin travel to Central America and the Caribbean islands on missions to distribute these glasses.  We now distribute to needy groups in Wisconsin and the US.

Lions also collect used hearing aids.  These used aids are then returned to our supplier for credit to purchase new hearing aids for needy Wisconsin residents.
